I am Jamileh Salek Ostadtaqi an Iranian-Canadian artist currently based in Toronto. I hold the Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Alzahra University in Tehran, and Master of Fine Art degree from Tarbiat Modarres University in Tehran-Iran. My work spans over two and a half decades and has been featured in over 55 solo and group exhibitions in Iran and Canada. My most influential lectures include Post-modernism and Feminism in Arts at the Annual Painting Exhibition of Isfahan, Iran, in 2003 and Pluralism in the Post-modern Arts at Soureh University of Shiraz, Iran in 2012. In 2014, I was selected to participate in the group exhibition and workshops during the Symposium International De Peinture Et Sculpture Du-Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec. I introduced my work to Toronto audiences at the John B. Aird Gallery group exhibition: “Toronto: The Views Are Different Here”. I recently had a solo show in 59th Toronto Outdoor Online Art Fair. I was awarded the Toronto Arts Council Newcomer and Refugee Artist grant 2018. Currently, I split my time between creating new series of paintings and doing independent illustration work.
